Technical Characteristics 
Preciso® landslide uses readings taken from Synthethic Aperture Radar (SAR) data to measure sub-centimetric movements of reference points on the ground.
The ample availability radar satellites, such as Cosmo-SkyMed, ERS, Envisat, Radarsat and Terrasar-X give the possibility of frequent readings, allowing continuous territorial monitoring in any area of the globe, with historical data cover the last ten years.
The maps of movement are used as database to classify the state of the landslide.
The service also uses optical stereoscopic images to define the areas of subsidence.
 

Informative content
Preciso® landslide provides periodical supply of a geographical database containing polygons of the landslide areas, associated with the information on condition and the trend of movement in recent years.
The frequency of information updating is based on the users’ needs.
In areas where the perimeters of the landslides are unknown, the activation phase of the service includes new mapping or updating of landslide charts.

Preciso® landslide was designed in collaboration with the experts from CNR IRPI of Perugia, Italy, specialized in satellite data processing and geomorphological interpretation. The extraction of interpherometric measurements of the movement of reference points on the ground taken from SAR (Synthetic Radar Aperture) satellite data is made with the SPINUA algorithm created by GAP Srl, a spin-off the Politecnico of Bari.
