We are over 130 men and women, passionate and skilled in Geoinformatics, Space solutions, and Earth science, every day committed to identifying and designing innovative solutions that simplify the adoption of geospatial data and strive to help other people understand the world better. We make every effort to promote a geographic culture and create positive relationships with all our stakeholders in the geospatial and new space panorama. More than 30 years of business, experience, and care have led our group to become one of the leading organizations in Europe in the design and development of spatial data infrastructures and Earth observation services for land management. The Planetek group consists of Planetek Italia, the parent company, Planetek Hellas, based in Athens, Greece, and two university spin-offs, GAP and GEO-K, based in Bari and Rome, Italy.
We are structured in Strategic Business Units, focused on different markets, in which we offer:
- Satellite, aerial, and drone data processing for cartography and geo-information production;
- Continuous monitoring with satellite data of Earth’s surface, infrastructures, work sites, urban dynamics or marine coastal areas in support of decision-making and operational activities
- Design and development of Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) for geospatial data archive, management and sharing;
- Design and development of real-time geo-location-based solutions, through positioning systems such as GPS/Galileo/GNSS and indoor location systems;
- Development of software for the satellite on-board data and image processing and for ground segment infrastructures.
The model we adopt in all our business activities is based on the principles of Strategic Design. The aim is to identify the best combination, over time, between user requirements, technological feasibility, and economic, social, and environmental viability.

🚀 Planetek Academy
Planetek Academy is our free training programme. It is aimed at graduates interested in enhancing knowledge and skills useful for accessing job opportunities in the Geomatics and Earth observation sector. The Academy is aimed at graduates with skills in various scientific disciplines, such as Aerospace, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Earth Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Agriculture, Natural Sciences, and Engineering.
The Academy programme also includes other training initiatives aimed at professionals and students who wish to learn about all the potential of satellite remote sensing.

Planetek Italia promotes SCHOLARSHIPS and RESEARCH GRANTS in collaboration with the main Italian universities and as part of the National Doctorate in Earth Observation.
