From 23 to 25 September, Planetek Italia and D-Orbit will take part in BEX – Beyond Exploration Expo, the new international event dedicated to the Space Economy and to connecting the space industry with terrestrial sectors, taking place at the Rimini Expo Centre.

The event combines B2B activities with outreach initiatives and training sessions, opening its doors to universities, researchers and future professionals. Its aim is to foster dialogue between the traditional space value chain, emerging industries and the wider innovation ecosystem, encouraging cross-fertilisation between seemingly distant sectors – from food and fashion to healthcare, logistics, automotive and energy.

Future EO Arena 

Over the three days, the Future EO Arena will host free courses and workshops dedicated to Earth Observation and the new frontiers of space technology.

As Industrial Partners of BEX 2026, Planetek Italia and D-Orbit will bring the “Future EO Arena” to life: an open space for learning, discussion and networking, designed for everyone – from industry professionals and those looking to start a career in the space sector, to professionals working in Italian public administrations and non-space industries such as energy, utilities and engineering.

Each day will begin with an introductory course on satellite imagery and data, followed by sessions exploring Earth Observation applications for engineering, energy and utilities, infrastructure, Smart Cities, climate change and urban green space management. On 23 and 24 September, we will explore the innovations transforming the space sector, from In-Orbit Servicing to Space Edge Computing, in collaboration with the UK Space Agency. On 24 September, together with the Italian Space Agency, we will discover the services offered by Italy’s new IRIDE constellation.

On Wednesday 23 September, the Find Your Place in Space session will explore the skills sought by the space industry and the career opportunities offered by this rapidly evolving sector, as well as presenting the results of the European SpaceSUITE project. Also on Wednesday 23 September, visitors will have the opportunity to meet Planetek and D-Orbit’s HR & People teams at the stand, where they will be available to answer questions from candidates and students interested in career and collaboration opportunities with the two companies.
