Planetek Italia awarded as Welfare Champion 2020

The Italian Premier, Giuseppe Conte, met the 78 Welfare Champion 2020 companies awarded during the presentation ceremony of the Italian SMEs welfare Report 2020 Welfare Index PMI.

The Welfare Index PMI 2020 ceremony took place on Tuesday 22 September 2020 in Rome. Promoted by Generali Italia, the initiative aims to spread the culture of corporate welfare among companies and to present the Italian SMEs welfare annual Report.

During the event, the award ceremony of the 78 Welfare Champion 2020 companies was held in the presence of the Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, and the Undersecretary of State for Labor and Social Policies, Stanislao Di Piazza.

The initiative is an opportunity to learn about some of the best corporate welfare stories that highlight the reaction and resilience capacity of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), which have obtained the 5W of the PMI Welfare Index Rating and which they constitute the backbone of the Italian economic fabric.

Since the launch of this initiative five years ago, Planetek Italia has participated in the PMI Welfare Index, allowing an evaluation of its welfare system, in order to continuously improve the quality and breadth of corporate welfare initiatives.

For the first three years Planetek Italia was awarded the welfare leader rating, certifying a significant level of its welfare system. Since 2019, it has joined the group of companies that have distinguished themselves for excellence in their welfare system, obtaining the Welfare Champion rating.

In 2020, Planetek Italia has decided to submit its financial report, its policies and activities to the evaluation of the scientific committee, improving its corporate welfare initiatives and entering the shortlist of 78 Welfare Champion 2020 companies.

In 2020, even in an exceptional and critical context due to the pandemic, the company focus was on the well-being and safety of workers, activating smart working in advance of the requirements of the Ministry and assisting the staff throughout the period in organizing the work in maximum safety even from a distance.

Welfare Index PMI 2020, the index that evaluates the level of corporate welfare in small and medium-sized enterprises, in the year of Covid redesigned its fifth edition in light of the emergency, implementing an even broader and more in-depth research.

The Index is scientifically constructed: research criteria and methodology are subject to the control of a Steering Committee made up of all the project partner trade associations, institutional representatives and experts from industry and the academic world.

The initiative brings out the stories of companies that have made corporate welfare a strategic lever for their growth and, this year, to deal with the emergency and for the country's sustainable recovery.

Caring for the well-being of our people is part of the company's DNA; it is a value in which we strongly believe and which we try to preserve, with continuous attention to the needs of our business community and continuous investments.", declares Mariella Pappalepore, CFO and co-founder of Planetek Italia,"In recent years we have worked to implement welfare facilities, investing in the growth and development of people. In year 2020, during the Covid-19 emergency, we remained consistent with our choices, we hired new personnel and did not activate even an hour of layoffs. We have activated a specific insurance policy to protect workers, to whom we have provided professional training. We are really proud of this recognition which encourages us to continue in the direction we have taken."
