EXPANDEO, the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies Annual Conference is the event where the European Earth Observation companies get the chance to learn about different market opportunities in different sectors while growing their business through networking and other interactive sessions. This year EXPANDEO will host the FIRE Forum 2022 again.

The FIRE Forum 2022 will bring together key representatives from six user communities key sectors – agriculture, energy, infrastructure, marine, raw materials and urban development, EO service providers and institutional actors to discuss the “Now and Tomorrow” of Earth Observation in Europe. Discussions will build upon findings from the first and second round of FIRE Focus Group events, as well as the first FIRE Forum which took place last June 2021.

The event will be opened by the General Secretary of EARSC and coordinator of the H2020 FIRE project, Emmanuel Pajot, followed by powerful video message by Thierry Breton, Commissioner for the Internal Market. The keynote speech will be delivered by Paraskevi Papantoniou, Director for Space (acting), European Commission.

The “Green Deal Dialogue” will be an interactive session dedicated to facilitating conversation and exchanging views on the contribution of satellite-EO based services for the measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) of certain policies as well as to deliver crucial information to support the Green Deal. The session will discuss “EO4GreenDeal” in 3 independent blocks (1) EO 4 Green Deal policies from 11h00-11h45 (2) Accounts 4 the Green Deal from 11h45-12h30 and (3) Global development 4 the Green Deal from 12h30-13h15.

DAY 2 - June 15 - start at 11:00 AM (CET). "EO For Green Deal Policies" session. Giovanni Sylos Labini CEO of Planetek Italia was invited to join the session as moderator to reach the overall objective of raising awareness on the use of Earth Observation data and services to achieve the ambitious EU climate targets.
