A.I. onboard of a drone for real-time route optimization


Current regulations place various constraints on the flight of autonomous drones, e.g. prohibiting them from flying over concentrations of people.

The RPASinAir project team has developed a drone application powered by A.I. to automatically detect people beneath the drone and to optimally reconfigure its mission.

The RPASinAIR project is co-funded by the European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF) and Italian “Programma Operativo Nazionale (PON) Ricerca e Innovazione  2014-2020”. The research is part of the “Taranto  Grottaglie  Airport Test Bed” program.
