On Wednesday 27 October 2021 it will be held online the virtual conference "Sustainable port management through Copernicus: the space-based IMPRESSIVE platform" organized by the H2020 Impressive project partners.

The IMPRESSIVE project has developed a universal-relocatable platform for real-time management of marine pollution events in the wider area of EU harbours and their vicinities, easy to manipulate and use from the harbor control post. EO monitoring and advanced modeling of these areas are of great interest as the large ship activity, ship traffic and ship refueling, addresses them as highly risky for pollutant spills and waste waters.

The goal of the virtual conference is to showcase how the Impressive space-based platform can help authorities prevent marine pollution incidents.

The conference has the overall objective to promote and present the IMPRESSIVE solution, an innovative platform with cutting-edge technology which could contribute to the sustainability of the ports in Europe. Participants will have the chance to learn more about the innovative platform and the story behind this marine initiative; join the debate inround tables with local and regional authorities, port authorities, industry, other maritime initiatives; and join an open discussion between experts and audience on current and future needs in terms of maritime services that could be fostered, implemented and integrated into the regional strategies.

Planetek Italia, as a partner of the Impressive project, will participate in the roundtable discussion with maritime stakeholders.
