    The coastal area monitoring with Earth Observation tecniques can be accurately supported thanks to one of WorldView-2 satellite multispectral band. The Coastal Band, with wavelenght between 400 and 450 nm, makes possible, in fact, punctual analysis on coastal areas and on bathimetry.

    SAR radar images are a fundmental source to support emergency response activities to detect flooded areas even in case of cloudy weather. The department 'Difesa del Suolo' of Regione Sardegna, Italy, has started a project for monitoring of main river basins all over the region that includes the use of radar and optical Earth Observation data .
