On-Line the Italian Biomasses AtlasThe Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment (ENEA) has published the "National Biomasses Atlas". The system, based on ERDAS APOLLO technologies, will be a decision support tool to help define the optimal location of energy plants to produce biomasses as well as to achieve European targets for energy policies. The system aggregates their different data sources and implements OCG Compliant Web Services to publish data maps.

DigitalGlobe Named Earth Observation Operator of the YearDigitalGlobe has been recognized at the 6th Annual Awards for Excellence in Satellite Management in Paris as "Earth Observation Operator of the Year".
DigitalGlobe is a global provider of commercial high-resolution earth imagery products and services. The company provides product based on satellites Quickbird, Worldview-1 and, from october 6th, also on next generation satellite Worldview-2.

ERDAS Imagine 2010. Presenting a New Face to the WorldERDAS IMAGINE 2010 will have a new user interface! With many advanced software packages, functionality is buried in layers of menus, sub-menus, sub-sub-menus, and sub-sub-menu tabs. In ERDAS IMAGINE 2010, the developer team have tied together a heterogeneous set of applications in a simple, easy to use, and easy to learn UI. Other useful features are added, including the ability to have multiple views, visualize data in different modes; create custom workflows, allowing the development and packaging of specialized workflows; and a “Shoebox” data repository, so project teams can quickly share datasets. WorldView-2 Launch Date AnnouncedDigitalGlobe announced that its WorldView-2 high-resolution 8-band multi-spectral satellite is scheduled to launch on October 6th, 2009. WorldView-2, DigitalGlobe’s second next-generation class high-resolution satellite (0,50 meter resolution), is expected to nearly double DigitalGlobe`s collection capabilities.
