ParcService: Parks mapping on the webDiscovering Parks and Natural protected areas is easier with new technologies. The authority of National Park of Cinque Terre, an UNESCO world Heritage located in Liguria, Italy, is a test user of a new system based on web technology and Earth Observation imagery with a dual purpose: land monitoring and interacting with park visitors. The system is the output of an European Space Agency funded project and can be considered both a webGIS and a GeoBlog enabling the access to several resources: Ikonos satellite imagery, Land Use maps, on-line visitors` files and recommendations, 3D view of the park for those surfers that have installed Google Earth.

Planetek Italia widens the supply of satellite dataFormed as a result of ORBIMAGE´s acquisition of Space Imaging, GeoEye is today the largest commercial remote sensing company. Planetek Italia as a commercial partner of GeoEye´s European Regional Affiliate (European Space Imaging) enriches its offer (IKONOS, IRS, P6) with archive images and new acquisitions made by the OrbView-3 satellite.
In early 2007, GeoEye-1 is scheduled to be launched. With 40cm panchromatic and 1.6 m multispectral resolution, GeoEye-1 will the first next-generation high-resolution remote sensing satellite.
