IUFRO Conference, Call for paperLocorotondo, Bari, Italy on September 26-29, 2006. Will be held the IUFRO – International Conference in Forest Landscapes, focused on "Patterns and Processes in Forest Landscapes: Consequences of Human Management". This Conference will contribute to explore the following topics:
(1) Forest ecology in response to human management and impact;
(2) Species diversity in managed/unmanaged forest landscapes;
(3) Forest landscape planning and management - including urban forests;
(4) Patterns & processes at multiple spatial and temporal scales. Other contributions of interest are those related with the theory in landscape ecology and forest management, providing examples of successful case studies, applications, and comparative analyses world-wide.

Training on WebGIS, GIS & Remote SensingTwo new courses organized by Planetek Italia before the end of the year. The first "GIS & Remote Sensing" of the duration of 5 days will start November 28th, 2005. The second on "WebGIS" will be held on December 12-13-14th, 2005. All courses organized by Planetek Italia can count on a decade of experience in the Education programmes of the company and are designed to introduce new technologies and most recent applications with the support of practical sessions based on real case studies analysis.

Landslides Inventory of Italian TerritoryThe Project called IFFI (Landslides Inventory of Italian Territory) constitutes the very first homogenous and updated inventory of the landslides phenomena on the entire national territory. The on-line archive is fully accessible to all those users involved in decision making and management of territorial planning, such as local administrations, agencies and technicians.
Planetek Italia has developed the WeGIS application with Cart@net. -
ArcGIS 8.x and 9.x ECW JPEG2000 plugin v3.0 ReleasedArcGIS® 8.x and 9.x ECW JPEG 2000 plugin v3.0 has been Released, and is available for download at:
http://www.ermapper.com/downloads/download_view.aspx?PRODUCT_VERSION_ID=285The new features of this version include the support for JPEG2000 files, as well as JPEG2000 files served by an Image Web Server, with speed improved for accessing remote ECW and JPEG2000 image files via streaming (ecwp) imagery protocol. The plugin now includes the latest free ECW JPEG2000 Compressor, allowing the user to compress images to ECW or JPEG 2000 format.
