Envisat produces the sharpest global Earth map everThe most detailed portrait of the Earth`s land surface is being created with ESA`s Envisat environmental satellite. The GLOBCOVER project aims at producing a global land cover map to a resolution three times sharper than any previous satellite map.

A space view of the Province of BariEuropean Space Imaging has collected IKONOS high resolution satellite images of the entire Province of Bari. The great information content of IKONOS satellite images is a new possibility for all those Agencies and Municipalities aiming at using this brand modern technology to update their cadastral data, digital and traditional carthography, and, nonetheless, to environmental and natural resources monitoring and managing.

APAT: Corine Land Cover 2000It has been presented during the last edition of MondoGIS Conference, the I&CLC2000 project, a joint initiative of EU Commission and EU Environment Agency, involves 26 countries in updating at year 2000 environmental parameters and information. The CORINE Land Cover is a full available database now including orthorectified Landsat 7 ETM satellite images of the italian and european territory, Land Cover and Changes definition maps. The italian National Authority managing the project and the diffusion of the products is APAT (Agency for Environmental Protection and Technical Services). Planetek Italia has developed the system for the consultation and download of maps.
