With Cart@net to help gorillasThe European Space Agency has asked Planetek Italia to develop a WebGIS system with Cart@net to share the data collected in the framework of the SOGHA project, Surveillance of the Gorilla Habitat. This way it’s possible to view satellite images, cartography and data collected on the field from the NGOs, the Non-Governmental Organizations, involved in the project originated by a convention between ESA and UNESCO. The WebGIS system has reduced the physical distances, thus allowing a better monitoring of the habitat of the gorilla in the area between Ruanda, Uganda and Democratic Republic from Congo.
