Around Italy with the Cart@net TourAfter the first appointment in Milan, the Cart@net Official Tour will take place in three other Italian cities: Rome ( May 23), Naples (June 11), Palermo (June 19). Cart@net is the tool produced by Planetek Italia to distribute both raster and vector cartography. It provides an unprecedent "dual map" window, that allows to place side by side or overlap two different views, of the same area or two contigous areas, allowing multitemporal and multisource analysis. Another important feature that makes Cart@net unique is the possibility to access to large dataset (orthophotos, satellite images and raster cartography) independently from the file size. This way, it`s possible to serve images large also hundred of Gigabytes via the internet. Cart@net allows the access to the clients via both the common browser and GIS, CAD and Office products; it`s based on Image Web Server and it`s strictly integrated with ArcIMS, MapGuide and many other servers available on the market.
