International markets reward Planetek

After been awarded for the development of the new European INSPIRE Geoportal, Planetek Italia was chosen for major contracts and projects in Europe and North Africa.

The two contracts are the Geographic Information System for the Ministry of Agriculture of Morocco and the high-resolution map of Forest and Impervious Area characteristics for the EEA within the GMES Initial Operations (GIO) Land Monitoring Services.

This is a new step for Planetek Italia towards an internationalization of its activities that prizes the skills and experience gained by the Planetek team. Nonetheless it will be a new challenge and a great experience that wil consider a number of new requirement coming from specific policies, techonolgies adopted and, obiouvsly, new cultures.

Closing for Saint Nicholaus' Day celebration

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 our offices will stay closed for Saint Nicholaus' Day celebration, Patron Saint of Bari.

If you wish to know more about the Saint, worldwide known as Santa Claus or Father Christmas, we suggest you to visit the town during the three days celebration on 7th, 8th and 9th of may.

Planetek Italia has reached the age of majority

On 14th January 2012, Planetek Italia has "reached the age of majority", celebrating 18 years of activity.
A goal achieved with the help of customers, partners and suppliers who believed in us.
A special thanks goes to all colleagues working in Planetek Italia, who participated in the construction of our dream of doing business and, thanks to their high committment and efforts, enable us to address increasingly complex and stimulating challenges.

The new made in Puglia satellite for Environment and Surveillance

In the framework of the POR FESR 2007-2013 (Regional Operational Programme of the European Regional Development Fund 2007-2013) the Apulia Region has approved SHIRA Planning Agreement. SHIRA agreement includes the feasibility study of an high-resolution thermal infrared band Earth Observation satellite and the design of a Data Fusion Center located in Apulia. The project is entirely promoted and realized by a consortium of Apulian companies.
